The edition number, title, signature and date are written under the image in pencil.

This reduction linocut print has been created using 14 ink mixes over 10 layers of printing.

The reduction method of printmaking uses just one plate, which is further cut away after each layer is printed, so there is no going back and the print cannot be repeated. There are just 9 prints in this edition. As each layer is handprinted, including wiping ink on and off the block, there are variations between each print and no two are absolutely identical. There may be small differences from the images shown.

This print is supplied UNFRAMED AND UNMOUNTED. 

About this scene:
This image is a delightful small lake in France which my husband and I discovered on a recent holiday. There was a footpath all the way around so we could take a circular route as many early morning dog walkers and runners were also doing. The title comes from the smiling comment made to us by an elderly woman contentedly sitting on a bench. ('Une belle balade' means a lovely or pleasant walk).
