This reduction linocut print has been created with 11 layers of printing.

The reduction method of printmaking uses just one plate, which is further cut away after each layer is printed, so there is no going back and the print cannot be repeated. There are just 10 prints in this edition. As each layer is handprinted, including wiping ink on and off the block, there are minor variations between each print and no two are absolutely identical. There may be small differences from the images shown.

This print is supplied UNFRAMED AND UNMOUNTED. 

About this scene:
This path runs along the bank of the River Ouse in York, on the stretch between the Blue Bridge and the Millennium Bridge. This image is from early summer when the horse chestnut trees are blossoming.
