The edition number, title, signature and date are written under the image in pencil.

This complex reduction linocut print has been created using 10 colours over 8 layers of printing (see the last image for how these layers developed). It shows a rapidly flowing river through forest.

The reduction method of printmaking uses just one plate, which is further cut away after each layer is printed, so there is no going back and the print cannot be repeated. There are just 9 prints in this edition. As each layer is handprinted, including wiping ink on and off the block, there are minor variations between each print and no two are absolutely identical. There may be small differences from the images shown.

This print is supplied UNFRAMED AND UNMOUNTED.

The scene depicted is in the Kejimkujik National Park in Nova Scotia which I visited in 2023.
