This twelve layer reduction linocut print depicts the world famous lighthouse at Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, which I visited most recently in September 2023. A particularly complex print, it was created with 14 colour mixes printed in 12 passes, meaning 24 separate stages of carving and printing.

The reduction method of printmaking uses just one plate, which is further cut away after each layer is printed, so there is no going back and the print cannot be repeated. There are just 10 prints in this edition. As each layer is handprinted, there are minor variations between each print and no two are absolutely identical. There may be small differences from the images shown.

This print is supplied UNFRAMED AND UNMOUNTED. 

For those who like to know:
The scene depicted is on the eastern shore of Nova Scotia. I visited in 2002 and again in 2023.
