This small print was produced especially for an exhibition in the chapel of York Cemetery. It depicts part of the Lime Avenue, a peaceful path through the beautiful cemetery and nature reserve.
The reduction method of printmaking uses just one plate, which is further cut away after each layer is printed, so there is no going back and the print cannot be repeated. This print was created in four stages of carving and printing, using increasingly intense tones of a gentle green. There are just 10 prints in this edition. As each layer is handprinted, there are variations between each print and no two are absolutely identical. There may be small differences from the images shown.
