May Liss
Watercolour and sepia chalk
25 x 30 cm
2004
This quick sketch was completed on the spot in half an
hour while May Liss was sitting for a much longer acrylic painting by another
artist.
Sepia chalk cannot easily be erased and is indelible although it
will run and intensify when water or paint is applied over it. This
makes it an excellent medium for rapid sketching as it concentrates the mind
and makes it impossible to be hesitant or uncertain!
