Hobbit
Watercolour and pencil
32 x 40 cm
2004
This painting of my eleven year old daughter started as a
sketch made when she was taking a rest from playing 'Lord of the Rings' in
the garden with her elder brother one summer evening. Her hair is
dishevelled and over her own clothes she is wearing her father's old green
tee shirt which came down to her knees like a tunic.
She soon wanted to go back outside to resume their game so
I took some digital photos and completed the painting later, much as I would
with a commissioned piece.
